His meticulous attention to detail and laid back, yet organized approach help him to address the Grind’s numerous rushes with a welcoming tranquility that keeps everyone smiling.

Jake is a Southern California kid: born in Palmdale, raised in San Diego and Thousand Oaks, and calling Los Angeles home for the last 5 years. With a storied background in operations and food service, he’s worked for over a dozen companies including small businesses, startups, retail chains, and parks services. His role as The Grind’s barista marks his first time serving a real estate brokerage, an environment where a steady flow of caffeine is crucial. But whether exercising his creativity with an original drink or serving up tried-and-true classics, Jake meets the demand with gusto.

Having established his own mobile tea company serving private events and flea markets across Los Angeles, Jake exhibits an entrepreneurial spirit and penchant for innovation that blends beautifully with JohnHart’s culture. When not creating new drinks and curating playlists for his business’s mobile speaker cart, he enjoys relaxing with a good book or movie, drawing, or cooking. Jake also works toward a healthy, happy, and mindful community, imploring guests of the Grind to reuse their cups or recycle when possible.
